Brian Griffiths, 32, of Pasadena is Chairman of the Maryland Young Republicans. Griffiths is a long-time Republican Party activist. He is also serving concurrently as the Northeast Regional Vice-Chairman of the Young Republican National Federation, for which he has also served as Assistant Secretary. He has worked as a strategist with a focus on strategic communications and message development on a number of campaigns at the municipal, county, and state levels. Prior to his election, Brian served as National Committeeman for the MDYRs. He also served two terms as President of the Anne Arundel Young Republicans, and is former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Teenage Republicans.
Brian is also a Contributing Editor and member of the Board of the influential blog RedMaryland, Maryland’s premier and most widely read blog of Conservative and Republican Politics. He is the Co-Host and Executive Producer of RedMaryland Radio formerly airing on WAMD in Aberdeen and currently airing on The RedMaryland Network.
In addition to his political activities, Brian is a former member of the Anne Arundel County Amusement License Commission, and former Chairman of the Board of the Maryland Student Legislature, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that open the doors of the government and the legislative process to students enrolled at colleges and universities in Maryland through a simulation of the Maryland State Government.
Brian graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western Maryland College in 2000, and with a Master of Arts in Political Management from the Graduate School of Political Management at The George Washington University in 2002.
