ANNAPOLIS- Maryland Young Republicans Chairman Brian Griffiths issued the following statement regarding former Republican candidate Rob Sobhani’s new television ad targeting young voters:
“Rob Sobhani’s latest television advertisement is an insult to Maryland’s young working professionals. While twenty-something Marylanders are looking for good-paying jobs and a better economic environment, Sobhani is trying to convince these hard working professionals that the allure of an internship is a reason to vote for him. It’s appalling to think that Sobhani holds young professionals in such a low regard.
This ad merely highlights the latest in a series of hair brained, cockamamie ideas that Rob Sobhani has unleashed upon the voters of Maryland. To this day, Rob Sobhani cannot explain how is going to ‘guarantee’ new internships, new jobs, or new markets for Maryland goods without a significant influx of taxpayer dollars. S
obhani refuses to say how he is going to fund these programs or why he cannot perform these miracles with no cost to the taxpayer without investing millions of his own dollars in a effort to buy a seat in the U.S. Senate. We have gotten to a point where I can no longer be surprised by each and every one of Rob Sobhani’s disingenuous schemes that he unveils to the public.
Rob Sobhani is running nothing more than a vanity campaign to satisfy his sizable ego that will provide no benefits to hardworking Marylanders. His inability to explain how his ideas will be implemented or funded proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Rob Sobhani is unfit to serve Maryland.
The Maryland Young Republicans are proud to stand by our nominee, Dan Bongino, himself a Young Republican, who understand what it means to be a hard working young professional here in our state.”
